Published Work
Derek Fell is a prolific writer of non-fiction, first gaining experience as a newspaper reporter for the Shrewsbury Chronicle Newspaper group, in England, then working for E. O'Dowd Gallagher, war correspondent and author, as his personal assistant for six years.

Derek's books can be purchased through Amazon.com, and also through local bookstores. If a local bookstore does not have a particular copy in print it can be obtained within 24 hours by special order. Out-of-print copies can be obtained through used-book stores and also by mail-order from various book search companies.

NEW PUBLICATIONS
CAMPBELL ISLAND (David Bateman LTD), Hard
cover, 144 pages. color and black-and-white illustrations. A travel
memoir that presents a fascinating account of two remarkable voyages to
Campell Island, one of a cluster of Sub-Antarctic islands in a wild and
isolated part of New Zealand. Descriptions and photographs of the
wildlife are interwoven with stories of human drama, including
exploration, whalers and sealers, shipwrecks, castaways and the victim
of a vicious shark attack.
GREAT GARDENS OF NEW ZEALAND (David Bateman LTD), Hard cover,
224 pages, full color. More than 30 of New Zealand's most beautiful
private gardens, from Butler Point in the north to gardens of Stewart
Island in the far south. An important criteria for selection is to
present diversity of style, size and geography in coastal and island
locations. A meaty introduction also presents a detailed account of the
most important influences on New Zealand gardens.
CèZANNE'S GARDEN (Simon &
Schuster), Hard cover, 130 pages, full color. A tour in words and
pictures of Cézanne's restored garden in Aix-en-Provence, where Marilyn
Monroe was one of its early visitors. Cézanne remains one of the world's
most beloved impressionist painters, and almost 100,000 visitors each
year flock to Les Lauves, his studio and garden. Fell offers fresh
insight to the man, his artistic legacy, his unique garden philosophy,
and the natural worlds that inspired him.
